Children between age 3 and grade 3 will be dismissed from the main service to go upstairs for their own worship and learning time. Children in Grades 4-6 have their own teaching time downstairs in the youth room and will also be dismissed from the main service. Programming for all ages is running at all three services.
Pre-school – Grade 3
Children between age 3 and grade 3 need to be signed in at the table in the hallway upstairs, outside of the big room. The children will start out in three separate classrooms for age appropriate lessons with a teacher. Following their lesson time, all of the children will come together for closing session in the big room. This closing session often includes singing and some teaching about the theme of the month. Children are also given the opportunity to donate to our sponsored child, Elliot, from Watoto Village, Africa. Following closing session, the children will be given ten minutes to play and build relationships with one another. Parents can come pick their children up from the big room at 10:25 (1st service) and 11:25 (2nd service). Children need to be signed out before they can leave.
Grades 4 – 6
Children in grades 4-6 will be dismissed from the service and meet downstairs in the church basement (youth room) for an age-appropriate lesson.
Note: Grades 4-6 will stay in the service during the summer months.
During all of our worship services we have a supervised nursery available for children ages 0-3 years upstairs in Room 206. Our nursery is well-equipped with attentive volunteer caregivers. Parents can sign their children in and out of the nursery on the sign-in sheet located on the table outside Room 206. Please note, this is a drop off supervised nursery. Parents are not allowed to stay in this nursery with their children due to our child safety policies.
We have a parent-supervised nursery available upstairs in Room 210 for little ones who have a difficult time leaving their parents. There is also a space inside the first set of balcony doors at the top of the stairs where there is a small table with colouring and room for parents to sit with young children who may wish to stay in the service but need some space to move around. There is also a room for nursing moms in room 202, which has a TV hooked up to the service and a few toys for young babies.
Nursing moms are welcome in our services, but if you would like a more private and comfortable place to nurse your child during the service, you are welcome to use the Nursing Mom’s Room upstairs (Room 202).
Our AWANA club meets every Thursday, from 5:50 – 7:20 at the church, September to March.
We desire to come alongside parents to help equip and encourage them to disciple their children at home. We have several events planned throughout the year to help equip parents, including Parent Night Out’s, a marriage course and a mom’s social group.
