True Church Part 2: All About Devotion

The beginning of the book of Acts gives us a great look into the early Church. What they did, how they did it and even the results of it. One thing we know for sure is that they were devoted to it in a way that gives new meaning to the word "devotion!"

This morning we are going to look at that Church as a model for us - His Church. Lets see what God has to say about it.

True Church Part 1: The Builder and The Buyer

What's the first thing that comes to our mind when we think of Church? Is it the location? The style of music? The denominational affiliation? I hope not. None of these things seem to matter to God - at least that's what His Word indicates.

Today we will look at what Church "is not," and then try to answer the question, "Why do we have Church in the first place?" Join us on this journey today. Lets see if we can figure what God has to say about it.

The Treasure Principle: What's Your end game?

A young, successful man comes to Jesus and asks Him the best question anyone could ever ask - what do I need to do to get eternal life? The answer Jesus gives him is a tough one. It rocks the foundations of everything he has built to this point, however...

...what about the things he DID RIGHT? Did he do ANYTHING right? What about the things he did wrong? Finally, why did Jesus give him the answer he did anyway?

Today we try to answer several of these questions and more as we look at what Jesus has to tell us about our treasures.

Expecting: Part 3 - Transforming Expectations

As we faithfully bear witness to Jesus we can expect God to work in ways that surprise us and we can expect to have our expectations - of God, and of our mission - to be transformed along the way.

What are you expecting this Christmas? Great gifts? Wonderful family time? Frustrating family time?!
We are all great at "expecting" but do we always expect the right things? Today we're going to look at the first part of the greatest story ever told and discover that there were a lot of expectations going on. Whether it was Mary, Joseph, or even the Israelite people, they were all expecting something.
Let's take a look and see what kinds of things you and I can expect.
