Day 8 - Jody

Jul 14, 2011

I was on Brooklyn’s team today. The dog she wrote about was tiny, but very persistent.  He managed to snag a few pieces of meat and an entire tortilla before we gave up trying to sit in the shade.  The family we built for today provided us with yet another amazing meal.  They set up a BBQ, made us ice-cold drinks and looked after us so well.

I absolutely loved the colour they chose for the house.  It was a bright blue, somewhere between aqua and marine.  We all loved it so much, that without any real communication a few of us started putting on the second coat.  Today’s challenge was being left mid-day by the Caravan team, to finish up and find our own way back.  Both teams rose to the challenge, returning to base within minutes of each other.

This morning, our speaker was Vaughn.  He’s in his 80s, and was simply amazing.  His message was straight forward.  He cut to the chase, no fluff.  Follow Christ.  Live out his dictates.  Actions speak louder than words, and if we want others to listen and learn, then we must do.
