This part time role includes working in a dynamic team environment alongside the Pastor of Children’s Ministry and the Children’s Ministry Staff Team to facilitate the discipleship of children at Summit Drive, encourage and equip parents in their important role as primary disciple-makers, and to provide opportunities for the community to hear the Good News of Jesus.
Principal Function
- Assist with running Kids Church programs at Sunday services, which may include a third Sunday evening service sometime this fall, for children 0 – Grade 6.
- Communicate regularly with other Children’s Ministry staff members, including being a productive and contributing member of the team.
- Welcome new families and children to the church.
- Attend Awana, our Thursday evening mid-week program, and assist the Awana Commanders as needed.
- Assist the children’s ministry staff team with other tasks as needed, and as time allows.
Qualifications
This candidate must be a mature follower of Jesus who is dedicated to the ministry of the local church, open and teachable, and must work well in a team setting. This candidate will ideally have or be working towards a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Religious Studies, Education or related fields), and have at least two years of experience in working with children.
