Summit Drive Church is looking to hire one summer intern to work in Children and Youth Ministries. The internship role will be for 35 hours per week for a total of 6-7 weeks, between the end of June through August. Work hours are flexible, but the intern will be required to attend and help with preparations for all summer programs for Children and Youth, including Sunday services.
General Duties:
- Assisting with both preparation for and running the children’s VBS program, soccer camp and youth events throughout the summer.
- Assisting with Children’s Ministry programming at Sunday Services.
- Tasks and responsibilities may vary depending on the individual’s gifts and talents. Some positions maybe more focused on assisting with children or with youth.
- Assisting Church ministry staff with other tasks and responsibilities as needs arise.
Qualifications
This candidate must be a mature follower of Jesus who is dedicated to the ministry of the local church, open and teachable, and must work well in a team setting. Experience working with children and youth is an asset. For this position, preference will be given to high school students.
As per Canada Summer Jobs program requirements, candidates must also meet the following:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment
