Description: This exciting role (10h/week; temporary) includes working in a dynamic team environment alongside the Director of Children and Families to facilitate the discipleship of children at Summit Drive, encourage and equip parents in their important role as primary disciple-makers, and to provide opportunities for the community to hear the Good News of Jesus.

Qualifications: This candidate must be a mature follower of Jesus who is dedicated to the ministry of the local church, open and teachable, and must work well in a team setting, and have at least a year of experience in working with children.

General Duties (Under the supervision of the Director of Children and Family Ministries):

– Assist with Sunday programming for children 0-grade 6. This will include helping with set up and clean up of our Sunday programs and being able to teach and help with various age groups as needed.

– Communicate regularly with other Children and Family Ministries staff members, including being a productive and contributing member of the team, and attending fortnightly meetings.

– Welcome new families and children to the church

– Assist with the recruitment, and training of volunteers (Helping with volunteer training, handing out volunteer forms and speaking to those interested in volunteering)

– Communicate regularly with families and volunteers, both in person on Sunday mornings, and through written or phone correspondence as appropriate and with support of the children’s ministry director.

– Assist with the planning and running of special events (i.e. Easter Sunday, Movie Nights, Church Camp)
