Summit Drive Church is a mid-sized congregation with Sunday attendance ranging between 450 and 675 (with three services and online presence), and approximately 1100 people who call Summit Drive Church their home church.


Contract Length: Ongoing Parttime

Hours of Work: 1-4 hours per week

Anticipated Wage: $17.85/hr

Reporting to the Director of Administration and Operations, the Kitchen Coordinator oversees the overall use and operation of the kitchen. This role supports a safe and effective environment that fosters meaningful ministry connections around the table.

  • Manages the functionality of the kitchen by ensuring WorkSafe and FoodSafe compliance in the use/operation of the kitchen by all users. 
  • Inventory and supply management (Keep inventory of all supplies needed and make orders as needed, while managing a budget. May require purchasing small appliances/supplies for the kitchen as needed).
  • Maintain a running inventory of supplies in fridges/freezers/pantry and maintain a record or knowledge of available items.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen. Making sure the refrigerators and freezers are cleaned and outdated items discarded.
  • Manages and schedules kitchen and coffee room spring cleaning.
  • Provides oversight on the proper use and maintenance of the kitchen.
  • Provides kitchen orientation/training to those new/unfamiliar with SDC kitchen.  
  • Ensure maintenance of appliances when needed.
  • Communicate and work with the Director of Administration & Operations to ensure smooth operation of the kitchen.

Anticipated Hours of Work:1 – 4 hours per week (Hours may also vary depending on special events requiring Kitchen use)

This candidate must be a mature follower of Jesus who is dedicated to the ministry of the local church, open and teachable, and must work well in a team setting. A high school diploma or equivalent is an asset. FoodSafe Level 1 and WHMIS certifications are required.
