Under the supervision of the Pastor of Children’s Ministry, the Children’s Ministry Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative/clerical support to the Children’s Ministry program. This role will support the Children’s Ministry staff in the performance of their duties to help facilitate the discipleship of children at Summit Drive Church. 


  • Recruit and schedule volunteers. Enlist the aid of and develop volunteer teams to do ministry. Ensure the continued eligibility of volunteer team.
  • Communicate regularly with other Children’s Ministry staff members, families, and volunteers, both in person, and through written email or phone correspondence as appropriate.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Assist the Children’s Ministry Events Coordinator as needed with special events (i.e., Summer camps, Christmas concert, Easter Event, Church Camp, etc.). This will include assisting with the promotion and planning of special events.
  • Purchase weekly supplies needed for Children’s Ministry.
  • Print weekly lessons for Kids Church and ensure all the necessary supplies are ready to go in the Kids Church classrooms.
  • Oversee Children’s Ministry Sunday service: Kids Church sign-in, volunteer sign-in and ensuring all classrooms are filled with appropriate personnel.
  • Greet new families, hand-out new family registration forms and ensure new families are entered properly into Planning Center.
  • Training new sign-in volunteers as needed and ability to help in different classrooms as needed.
  • A growing, vibrant relationship with God, seeking to grow in Christ-like character, and a teachable spirit, and a desire to see children grow in their relationship with Jesus.
  • Ability to work independently, plan, organize, prioritize work, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Work well with the children’s ministry team, and initiate communication with team members.
  • Flexible to do various kinds of work to contribute to the running of Children’s Ministry throughout the year.
  • Computer competency (Microsoft 365 Suite, Canva, etc.)
